  1. A boat travels upstream at 8 km/h and downstream at 12 km/h. What is the speed of the stream?

    Answer: 2 km/h

    Speed of stream = (downstream − upstream)/2 = (12−8)/2 = 2 km/h.

    Answer: 42

    Differences are 4,6,8,10,12; next term=30+12=42; also n(n+1) pattern: 1×2=2,2×3=6,...,6×7=42.
