ACS — The ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme) is the UK's mandatory gas safety qualification, administered by UKAS-accredited certification bodies (e.g. BPEC, Capita). It covers Core Domestic Natural Gas (CCN1) plus appliance-specific units. Engineers must hold current ACS qualifications to be registered with Gas Safe Register and work legally on gas appliances in Great Britain under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.
