FUNDAMENTAL SURVEYING — The NCEES Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam is a computer-based, 110-question, 5-hour-and-10-minute examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), covering mathematics/statistics, measurement and analysis, coordinate systems, boundary law, photogrammetry, construction surveys, hydrographic surveys, transportation surveys, and the Public Land Survey System (PLSS); it is the first step toward licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor in most U.S. states.
