Free SFPC Special Access Programs Questions and Answers 1

Question 1

What is the primary purpose of a Special Access Program (SAP)?

Accepted Answer

To provide additional layers of security for particularly sensitive information

Answer

Special Access Programs (SAPs) are characterized by extremely limited access, strict need-to-know requirements, and enhanced security measures. Therefore, 'broad dissemination of information' is not a characteristic of a SAP; rather, SAPs are designed to restrict information to the fewest possible individuals to maintain its high level of protection.

Question 2

Which of the following is NOT a characteristic of a Special Access Program?

Accepted Answer

Broad dissemination of information

Answer

While Program Security Officers (PSOs) manage the day-to-day security of SAPs, the Designated Accrediting Authority (DAA) is typically responsible for the formal accreditation of the program's security posture, which includes approving access. The DAA ensures that the SAP meets all security requirements and that only authorized personnel are granted access.

Question 3

Who is typically responsible for approving access to a Special Access Program?

Accepted Answer

Designated Accrediting Authority (DAA)

Answer

In the context of Special Access Programs (SAPs), a 'carve-out' refers to the practice of segregating specific program information from general classified information systems. This isolation ensures that highly sensitive SAP data is not commingled with other classified information, thereby maintaining its strict need-to-know access controls and preventing inadvertent disclosure.

Question 4

In the context of SAPs, what does the term "carve-out" refer to?

Accepted Answer

The segregation of program information from general classified information systems

Answer

The Special Access Program Nomination Package (SAPNP) is the foundational document used to propose and establish a new Special Access Program. This package outlines the justification, scope, security requirements, and management structure for the proposed SAP, serving as the basis for its approval and implementation.

Question 5

What is the primary document used to establish and manage a Special Access Program?

Accepted Answer

Special Access Program Nomination Package (SAPNP)

Answer

The statement accurately defines biometrics. Biometrics are measurable physical characteristics (e.g., fingerprints, iris patterns) or personal behavioral traits (e.g., voice, handwriting) used to recognize or verify an individual's identity. This technology is widely employed in security systems for authentication and access control.
