Question 2

A train leaves Station A traveling at 60 mph. Another train leaves Station B, 120 miles away, traveling at 40 mph.
When will the two trains meet?

Accepted Answer

2 hours

Answer

To find when the trains meet, we calculate their combined speed, as they are traveling towards each other. The relative speed is 60 mph + 40 mph = 100 mph. Since the total distance is 120 miles, dividing the distance by the combined speed (120 miles / 100 mph) gives us 1.2 hours. Therefore, the trains will meet in 1.2 hours.
