Failed the UDEE — what to do differently the second time

Got my results yesterday and didn't pass. I'm frustrated but trying to stay focused on what to fix rather than dwelling on it. Writing this partly to process it and partly because I know others will be in the same spot.

My weakest area was udee study guide — I knew going in that it was shaky but underestimated how much the exam weighted it. The questions weren't unfair, I just didn't have the depth I needed.

I'm rebuilding my study plan around the udee figural reasoning patterns questions and answers and going much slower this time — no more rushing through topics I think I know. Planning to take 8 more weeks before rescheduling.

Anyone else been through a UDEE retake? What specifically changed in your approach that made the difference? And is it normal to feel like the second attempt is actually harder because of the pressure?

Congrats on passing! Can I ask — how many questions did the actual exam have compared to what the practice tests simulate? I've seen different numbers online and want to calibrate my timing during practice.

Late to this thread but wanted to add — the udee study guide section trips up more people than any other part. If you're scoring below 73% there in practice, treat it as your only focus for at least a week before moving on. Breadth at the expense of depth in that area is a common mistake.

For what it's worth — I've taken the UDEE twice now. First attempt I underestimated the udee study guide questions. Second time I focused almost exclusively on applied practice and passed comfortably. The difference is real.
