Finally passed TTC exam after two attempts — here's what actually helped

So I just got my results back this morning and I finally passed. Honestly had to sit down for a minute because I was not expecting it after bombing my first attempt in March. That one hurt — I'd done maybe 20 hours of studying total, figured the material wouldn't be too bad, and walked out completely blindsided by how technical some of the scenario questions were.

For round two I completely changed my approach. I started using a TTC practice test every single day for about three weeks, which helped me figure out where my weak spots actually were instead of just guessing. The timing and transit operations sections were killing me before, but drilling those questions made them feel manageable. I also found a study guide that broke down the regulatory stuff in plain language — that was a game changer for the rules and procedures questions.

My biggest exam tip: don't ignore the passenger interaction scenarios. I skipped those in my first round thinking they were common sense, but they're more nuanced than they look. Anyone else about to take this? Happy to share what resources I used.

Congrats! I passed mine back in January and the practice test grind is real — that's exactly how I did it too. I'd take a full timed set in the morning before work, review every wrong answer, then move on. The operational procedures questions tripped me up the most. What score did you end up needing to pass in your region? Ours required a 75 minimum and it felt razor thin.

Two attempts is nothing to be ashamed of — a lot of people I know needed at least two tries. The scenario questions are genuinely hard if you haven't worked in transit before. Stick with timed practice tests in the final week, don't cram the night before, and you'll be fine.

This is really encouraging to read. I'm registered for my first attempt in six weeks and honestly I've been pretty anxious about it. I've started a study guide but I feel like I'm just reading without retaining anything. Do you think the practice questions actually match the difficulty of the real exam? Or are they easier? I don't want to go in overconfident like you did the first time.
