Just passed IAC — honest breakdown of what actually helped

Got my results today — passed! Wanted to write up what actually made the difference since most study advice I found online was either vague or trying to sell something.

What worked for me:

The most useful thing was drilling "IAC" until I genuinely understood why each answer was right, not just which one was right. I stopped doing marathon study sessions and switched to 45-minute focused blocks.

The practice tests here matched the real exam difficulty closely. I found questions on "IAC - International Association of Coaching Certification" especially well-calibrated — the format and wording were similar to what I saw.

What didn't work: reading the official textbook straight through. Too dense. I'd read a chapter, take a practice test on just that chapter, review every wrong answer, then move on.

Final score: 74%. Time I had left over: about 10 minutes.

Happy to answer questions. You've got this.

The honest answer is: it depends a lot on your background.

If you're already working in this field, the IAC exam is testing knowledge you probably use daily. The "IAC" sections will feel familiar.

If you're coming in from outside, give yourself an extra 2 weeks and really focus on the practical application questions.

The practice tests here are worth doing repeatedly — I did the same test bank multiple times and found new questions I'd missed each time.

Went through this exact question when I was prepping. The IAC material on "IAC" is actually not as bad as it looks — once it clicks it clicks.

What helped me was finding one resource that explained it from first principles instead of just giving me the "right answer." Made a huge difference on the scenario-based questions.

Also: don't underestimate the importance of reviewing your wrong answers more than your right ones. I learned more from 20 wrong answers than 200 correct ones.
