Failed SCCM exam twice — what finally helped me pass on third attempt

So I've been chasing this certification for almost eight months now and I'm honestly embarrassed it took me this long. First attempt I scored a 68 — passing is 70 — which still makes me want to throw my laptop out a window. Second attempt I studied harder but hit the same wall around the software deployment and compliance settings sections. I was using mostly the official docs and a couple YouTube videos, which clearly wasn't cutting it.

What changed for round three was actually getting structured about it. I found a decent SCCM practice test bank that mirrored the real question format way better than anything I'd used before, and I committed to doing timed sets every single night for three weeks. I also picked up a study guide specifically focused on ConfigMgr current branch, not the older 2012 stuff that still clutters search results.

Passed with an 82 on my third attempt. If anyone else is struggling with collections, boundaries, or the reporting section specifically, I'm happy to share what finally clicked for me. Those three topics alone make up a brutal chunk of the actual exam.

The old 2012 study material flooding search results is such a trap, I fell into that on my first attempt too. Current branch changed so much around co-management and the cloud attach features that older materials are basically useless for the exam now. What practice test site were you using if you don't mind sharing? I have my exam in three weeks and I'm specifically nervous about the compliance and reporting modules.

Congrats on passing! I'm about six weeks out from my first attempt and the boundaries/boundary groups piece is killing me. The nested logic between them is confusing when you're reading the docs but makes way more sense once you actually lab it in a trial environment. Have you tried building out test collections from scratch? That hands-on time was honestly worth more than any study guide for me.

Exam tips from someone who just passed last month: don't neglect the client installation methods section. Seemed minor during studying but showed up way more than I expected. Also do timed practice runs — the real exam pacing is tight.
