Finally passing the Sass CSS Preprocessor certification after two failed attempts

So I've been grinding through this Sass certification for about three months now and I honestly almost gave up after my second attempt. I work as a junior front-end dev and my company basically told me to get certified by Q3 or lose the project assignment. No pressure, right? My weak spots were consistently the module system and how @use vs @import actually behaves in real projects — I kept mixing up the namespacing rules.

What finally clicked for me was doing timed practice runs instead of just reading docs. The Sass Practice Test on here was genuinely the closest thing I found to the actual question style — especially the stuff around nesting specificity and mixin arguments. I was scoring around 62% on my first few tries, which felt demoralizing, but after two weeks of focused drilling I got it up to 84%.

Anyone else currently prepping for this? Curious how others handled the partials and module import questions — those tripped me up the most. Happy to share my study notes if it helps.

Wait, are you talking about the W3Schools certification or something vendor-specific? I've been studying for what I thought was the same exam and I'm genuinely unsure which one counts in industry job postings. My score goal is 80%+ but I'm only two weeks into studying. Would love to see your notes if you're still offering — particularly anything around the partials organization questions.

Congrats on pushing through! I passed mine last September and the @use vs @import distinction was brutal for me too. What helped was actually building a small side project using only @use and forcing myself to deal with the namespace errors in real time. Reading about it doesn't stick the same way. Also the SCSS variable scoping questions caught me off guard — definitely spend time on those.

The SASS Partials and Modules 3 set on here wrecked me in the best way. Exposed like five gaps I didn't know I had. Do that one before your real attempt.
