Anyone else studying for ESC in the next month? Want to study together

Taking my (ESC) Electrical Safety Certification exam in 5 weeks and trying to find people at a similar stage to keep each other accountable.

I study better when I have someone to compare notes with. Currently going through "ESC" and working on my weak areas — specifically around ESC exam.

My schedule: 90 min of focused study every weekday, full practice test on weekends. I review every wrong answer and try to understand the why, not just memorize the right option.

If you're in a similar prep window and want to:
- Compare practice test scores weekly
- Share resources that actually helped
- Talk through confusing questions

Reply here or message me. Doesn't have to be formal — even just checking in once a week helps me stay on track.

Where is everyone at in their prep?

If you're looking for a starting point, the free esc electrical hazard identification risk assessment is worth trying — the questions closely match what you'll see on test day.

Quick data point: I spent 6 weeks studying, 1-3 hours a day, and passed with a 78%.

The section on ESC exam took me the longest to feel confident about. Eventually I just drilled practice questions until I could answer them without hesitation.

What testing center did you end up booking? Some of them have much shorter wait times than others right now.

This thread saved me from making the same mistakes. The tip about practice test being weighted heavily is accurate — I adjusted my study time based on this and it made a real difference. Also seconding the recommendation for electrical safety certification.

Coming back to this thread because I just passed my ESC yesterday. Everything people said about the practice test section is spot on — that was the hardest part for me too. For anyone still studying, don't skip the applied questions in the esc safety regulations & osha compliance 2. They're the closest to what you'll actually see.

For anyone finding this later: ESC is passable with consistent effort even working full time. I studied 44 minutes a day for 8 weeks. The free esc electrical equipment maintenance inspection kept me honest about my actual gaps.

Just hit a 78% on my last practice set, which honestly wasn't where I hoped to be at this point but I'll take it. The electrical safety theory sections are clicking now -- it's the practical application questions that keep tripping me up.

I'm aiming to sit the real exam in about three weeks. If you want to check in on each other's scores weekly that could help keep me honest. Good luck with your prep!

Honestly I almost bailed on this whole thing about two weeks before my test. The material wasn't clicking and I kept bombing the practice sections on safe work practices. What finally helped me was grinding through free esc safe work practices procedures questions until the patterns started making sense — repetition was the only thing that worked for me.

If you're five weeks out you've got time, don't panic. I'd say just focus on your weak areas first instead of reviewing stuff you already know. It's tedious but it works. Happy to compare notes if you want a study buddy.
