Just failed SafeSport certification exam — anyone else struggle with this?
So I'm a new youth soccer coach and my club requires SafeSport certification before I can step on the field with the kids. I went in pretty confident — I mean, I work with kids all the time and figured it was common sense stuff. Failed by 4 points. Now I have to wait before I can retest and I'm honestly embarrassed.
Has anyone found a good SAFESPORT practice test or study guide? The official training modules are like 3+ hours of videos and I watched them all, but the actual exam questions felt way more specific than the content covered. Things about mandatory reporting timelines, specific definitions under federal law, that kind of thing. I wasn't expecting it to be that detailed.
I've got two weeks until my retest. Planning to spend about 30 minutes a day reviewing. Would really appreciate any exam tips from people who've already passed — especially which topic areas to focus on. The emotional and physical misconduct definitions tripped me up badly.
