Taking my first PSI-proctored exam next week (state insurance licensing). I've heard mixed things about PSI test centers — some people say the experience is professional, others say they had technical issues or strict ID rules that weren't clearly communicated. What should I know going in?

Bring two forms of ID — a government photo ID plus a secondary ID. PSI is strict about this and they won't let you test if your documentation doesn't match their requirements exactly. Check the exam-specific ID requirements on your authorization letter, not just general PSI rules.

Arrive 15-20 minutes early. Check-in at PSI centers involves biometric and photo procedures that take longer than you'd expect. The exam time doesn't start until you're at the testing station so being early just reduces your stress.

If you have technical issues during the exam, raise your hand immediately — don't try to work around it. The proctor can pause the exam and get support without it counting against your time if you flag it right away.
