Applying to a practical nursing program that requires the PSB-PN (Psychological Services Bureau for Practical Nursing) admission exam. My reading and math are strong from previous college work. It's the natural sciences section — biology, chemistry, health — that I'm unprepared for. Haven't taken science since high school 8 years ago.
How long did you spend reviewing science and what resources helped you get back up to speed quickly?

For PSB-PN specifically, focus on basic biology (cell biology, genetics, body systems), basic chemistry (atoms, bonds, acids/bases), and health/anatomy content. You don't need university-level depth — the exam tests foundational concepts.

Six weeks of focused science review got me from feeling lost to scoring in the 80th percentile on the science section. Khan Academy biology and chemistry playlists are free and genuinely good for getting back to fundamentals.

The Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam prep book has a science section that covers exactly the right level for PSB-PN. It's more targeted than Khan Academy if you want a single focused resource.
