Our school district is implementing Precision Exams for our CTE programs this year. I'm a CTE coordinator trying to understand how these assessments work in practice and how the results should be used for program improvement vs student credentialing.
The vendor materials are promotional and not that helpful for understanding actual score interpretation. Anyone in a district that's been using Precision Exams for a few years?

We've used them for 4 years. The scores are most useful for identifying curriculum gaps at the program level — if most students miss the same cluster of standards, that's your curriculum revision target. For individual students the industry credential (e.g., CompTIA, OSHA) matters more than the Precision score.

Make sure teachers understand the standards alignment — the value of the assessment is only as good as how well the course is actually teaching to the standards being tested.

The state comparison reports are genuinely useful for grant writing and program defense conversations. Being able to show your students score at or above the state average on standardized CTE assessments is good accountability data.
