Finally passed my PA notary exam after two attempts — here's what helped
Okay so I just got my results back and I passed! I honestly didn't think I would after failing the first time back in March. The first attempt I kind of winged it — I read through the PA Notary Public Law booklet once and figured that would be enough. Spoiler: it wasn't. Got a 68 and needed a 75.
This time around I actually used a structured PA NOTARY practice test to drill myself on the stuff I kept missing, mainly the fee limits, journal requirements, and what counts as acceptable ID. That stuff is surprisingly specific and the exam loves to test edge cases. I also grabbed a study guide that broke down the 2024 law changes, which made a huge difference since a lot of older prep materials are outdated.
Total study time second round was probably 8-10 hours spread over two weeks. Anyone else prepping right now? Happy to share the specific topics I focused on or any other exam tips that worked for me.
