So I just got my Oracle APEX certification results this morning and I actually passed with a 78%. Honestly didn't think I'd make it after failing my first attempt back in March by 4 points. That first time I just read through the official docs and figured that'd be enough — huge mistake. The exam hit me with way more scenario-based questions about application building, page designer workflows, and REST data sources than I expected.

What turned things around for me was actually using an Oracle APEX practice test to identify my weak spots. I was bombing plug-ins and dynamic actions questions consistently. Once I found that pattern, I could focus my study guide notes on those specific areas instead of reviewing stuff I already knew. Took me about 6 weeks of focused prep, maybe 45 minutes a day.

Four points off on your first attempt and you came back — that's the mindset right there. Congrats on the pass. For anyone else reading, the exam tips about scenario questions are real. It's not just recall, they want you to actually think through the APEX builder workflow.

Congrats! I'm sitting mine in about three weeks and dynamic actions are absolutely killing me too. Can't seem to wrap my head around the event model when you chain multiple true/false actions together. Did you find any particular resource that explained it clearly, or was it mostly just repetition through practice questions until it clicked?

I passed last year and the biggest thing I'd say is don't underestimate the REST-enabled SQL and ORDS integration questions. The official docs gloss over some of the authentication setup steps but the exam definitely doesn't. I probably spent 70% of my prep time on things that showed up for maybe 15% of the questions. Balance your study guide across all the exam domains from the start.
