Oregon DMV knowledge test — how many questions can you actually miss?

Taking the Oregon DMV knowledge test next week and I'm seeing conflicting info about the passing score. Some sites say you need 28 out of 35 correct, others just say 80%. I'm guessing those are the same number but wanted to confirm before I go in. Anyone taken it recently?

I've been using the official Oregon Driver Manual and doing practice tests online. The sign identification section is tripping me up the most. I recognize the common ones fine but some of the less common warning signs — livestock crossing, no-passing zone on curves — I keep mixing up. I'm getting around 82–85% on practice tests, which feels close but not comfortable.

Also wondering about the process at the DMV itself. Do they tell you right away if you passed or failed? I've got a tight window between appointments and I'm trying to figure out if I'll have time to reschedule on the spot if I don't make it the first time.

Yes, 28 out of 35 is correct — that's 80% and that's been the passing score for a while. You find out immediately at the window. If you fail you can usually reschedule as soon as the next business day, sometimes same-day depending on the location.

82–85% on practice tests should be fine as long as you're using a source that reflects Oregon's actual manual. Some third-party sites have questions that don't match Oregon-specific rules at all. Stick to materials based directly on the Oregon Driver Manual.

The road signs section tripped me up too. Specifically drill the yellow diamond warning signs since those are the ones people tend to confuse with each other. I got 34 out of 35 on the actual test after bombing that section on every single practice run I did beforehand.
