Just failed the OK notary exam — what am I missing in my prep?

So I just got my results back and I failed the Oklahoma notary exam by 4 points. I'm honestly pretty frustrated because I spent about two weeks reading through the Oklahoma Notary Public Guide and felt pretty confident going in. Clearly something isn't clicking. The questions about proper acknowledgment wording and journal requirements really tripped me up.

I'm planning to retake it in about three weeks. Has anyone found a good OK NOTARY practice test that actually mirrors what's on the real exam? I've seen a few free ones floating around but they felt outdated. I also need a solid study guide that covers the specific Oklahoma statutes, not just generic notary law stuff.

Any exam tips from people who've been through this would be huge. Especially around the parts covering prohibited acts and notarial certificates — those sections felt way harder than I expected. What did you all focus on in your final week of prep?

Honestly the practice tests I found through the NNA helped more than the state guide alone. The guide tells you the rules but doesn't really prepare you for how the questions are phrased on the actual exam. Also — did you know Oklahoma requires notaries to keep a journal even though it's technically 'recommended'? Some exam questions treat it like it's mandatory. That caught me off guard.

Failed my first attempt too, don't sweat it. What finally worked for me was drilling the difference between jurats and acknowledgments until I could do it in my sleep. Oklahoma's pretty specific about certificate wording and a lot of people get caught treating them interchangeably. I'd say spend at least half your study time on Part 3 of the state guide — that's where the real exam leans heavily.

Three weeks is plenty of time if you stay focused. I passed on my second try with an 87 after failing the first time at a 74. The prohibited acts section is worth memorizing cold — it's usually 5-6 questions right there.
