So I just got my results back last week and I finally passed the OACP on my third attempt. Honestly thought I was never going to get through this thing. The first two times I just relied on reading the manual and a couple of YouTube videos, and I kept scoring in the low 60s when you need a 70 to pass. Totally demoralizing.
What changed for me was actually using a proper OACP practice test to identify my weak spots instead of just re-reading material I thought I already knew. Turns out I was really weak on use of force scenarios and the POPAT fitness standards — stuff I assumed I understood but couldn't actually apply under pressure. I'd spend maybe 90 minutes a day for six weeks, focusing heavily on practice questions, and that repetition made a huge difference.
Anyone else here prepping for their OACP right now? Happy to share more about what topics tripped me up or what my study schedule looked like. It's a tough exam but it's definitely passeable if you approach it the right way.
