Taking my (AK Notary) Alaska Notary Exam exam in 3 weeks and trying to find people at a similar stage to keep each other accountable.

I study better when I have someone to compare notes with. Currently going through "AK Notary" and working on my weak areas — specifically around AK Notary exam.

My schedule: 90 min of focused study every weekday, full practice test on weekends. I review every wrong answer and try to understand the why, not just memorize the right option.

If you're in a similar prep window and want to:
- Compare practice test scores weekly
- Share resources that actually helped
- Talk through confusing questions

Reply here or message me. Doesn't have to be formal — even just checking in once a week helps me stay on track.

Where is everyone at in their prep?

The free ak notary laws and regulations helped me understand what the exam actually tests rather than just what the material covers.

Quick data point: I spent 7 weeks studying, 1-3 hours a day, and passed with a 87%.

The section on AK Notary exam took me the longest to feel confident about. Eventually I just drilled practice questions until I could answer them without hesitation.

What testing center did you end up booking? Some of them have much shorter wait times than others right now.

For anyone finding this thread later: the AK Notary is passable with consistent effort, even working full time. I studied 43 minutes a day for 8 weeks. The ak notary ak notary commission and appointment 3 kept me honest about where my gaps were instead of just drilling things I already knew.

This thread saved me from making the same mistakes. The tip about study guide being weighted heavily is accurate — I adjusted my study time based on this and it made a real difference. Also seconding the recommendation for ak notary test.

I've been doing the same thing and honestly the biggest shift for me was stopping the "just memorize the right answer" approach. When I get something wrong now, I actually dig into why that answer is wrong, not just what the right one is. Made a huge difference. I found the free ak notary laws and regulations questions really helpful for this because a lot of them have enough context to reason through the logic instead of just pattern-matching.

You'd be surprised how many people skip that step and then blank on test day because they never actually understood the rule. Happy to compare weak areas if you want to sync up this week.
