Finally passed the NADA exam after two failed attempts — here's what worked
Okay so I want to share my experience because I really struggled with this one and I couldn't find much helpful info when I was searching around. I'm a service advisor at a Ford dealership and my manager basically said I needed the NADA certification to move into a management track. First attempt I scored a 67, second time a 71 — so close but not quite there. I was getting frustrated because I'd been using a random NADA practice test I found on some sketchy site and honestly I think the questions were just outdated or flat-out wrong.
What finally clicked for me was finding a structured study guide that actually matched the real exam domains — specifically the sections on F&I compliance, dealership operations, and fixed ops. I blocked off 90 minutes every evening for three weeks straight. Third attempt I hit an 84 and I nearly cried in the testing center parking lot.
For anyone grinding through this right now: the exam tips that helped most were focusing on the regulatory/compliance questions first since those are heavily weighted, and timing yourself during practice so you're not rushing at the end. Happy to answer questions if anyone's working through this.
