Failed my MS DMV written test twice — what am I missing?

So I'm embarrassed to even post this but I've failed the Mississippi written knowledge test twice now and I'm starting to lose my mind. First time I figured I just hadn't studied enough, so I spent a week going through the MS driver's handbook cover to cover. Second time I still didn't pass. I'm missing questions about right-of-way at intersections and some of the weird speed limit rules in school zones vs. construction zones.

Someone at the DMV office mentioned I should look for a good MS DMV practice test online to get used to the actual question format, because apparently the way they phrase things trips a lot of people up. That makes sense honestly — I feel like I know the material but then the wording throws me off completely during the real thing.

Has anyone put together a solid study guide that covers the tricky stuff? I've got my third attempt scheduled in two weeks and I really can't afford to fail again. Any exam tips from people who've actually passed would mean a lot right now.

The school zone speed limits tripped me up too — Mississippi has some specific rules about when the reduced speed applies that aren't super obvious from just reading. It's not just 'when kids are present,' there's stuff about flashing lights and time-of-day that they love to test. I'd focus your remaining study time specifically on those edge cases because they show up way more than you'd expect. Also make sure you're solid on stopping distances.

Oh man, I've been exactly where you are. What finally helped me was doing timed practice tests online instead of just reading the handbook passively. The format really is different from just memorizing rules. Once I started drilling the actual question style, I went from failing to passing with a 90% on my third attempt too. Give yourself at least 30-40 minutes a day of practice questions for the two weeks you've got — it adds up fast.

Don't be embarrassed — plenty of people need more than one try. The phrasing really is designed to be tricky. Just keep grinding practice questions and you'll start recognizing the patterns. You've got this.
