I've seen so many different numbers floating around online and my air force recruiter gave me one number while my friend's army recruiter told her something completely different. Can anyone break down the minimum ASVAB scores by branch?
From what I've gathered: Army is 31 AFQT, Navy 35, Marine Corps 32, Air Force 36, Coast Guard 40, and Space Force mirrors the Air Force at 36. But those are just the minimums — if you want a technical MOS or a specific job, the line scores matter way more than your AFQT alone. My recruiter said aiming for 65+ opens up a lot more options across all military branches.
I've been using the ASVAB practice test hub here to prep for all the subtests, not just the AFQT portions. Has anyone else found that the full practice tests here match what you saw on the real exam? I want to make sure I'm not over-preparing one area and neglecting another.
Your numbers are right. One thing people miss is that line scores (VE, AR, MK, etc.) determine job eligibility, not just the AFQT composite. Aiming for 65+ is solid advice — it puts you in a competitive pool for bonuses and better MOS options. Go for it.
