Struggling with NPE exam on NPE practice tests — any tips?

I've done 12 practice tests now and my scores on NPE exam questions are consistently lower than everything else.

I understand the concept when it's explained directly, but when it shows up in a scenario or application question I freeze up. It's like my brain knows the theory but can't connect it to a real situation fast enough.

Currently spending extra time on "NPE" study material but I don't feel like it's clicking. Has anyone dealt with this and found a specific approach that helped?

Things I've tried:
- Re-reading the textbook section (not helping)
- More practice questions on this topic specifically (some improvement but not enough)
- Watching YouTube explanations (hit or miss)

Any advice on how to actually internalize this concept rather than just memorizing surface-level facts?

The free npe exam content and structure helped me understand what the exam actually tests rather than just what the material covers.

Went through this exact question when I was prepping. The NPE material on "NPE" is actually not as bad as it looks — once it clicks it clicks.

What helped me was finding one resource that explained it from first principles instead of just giving me the "right answer." Made a huge difference on the scenario-based questions.

Also: don't underestimate the importance of reviewing your wrong answers more than your right ones. I learned more from 20 wrong answers than 200 correct ones.

For anyone finding this thread later: the NPE is passable with consistent effort, even working full time. I studied 51 minutes a day for 13 weeks. The npe evidence-based interventions questions and answers kept me honest about where my gaps were instead of just drilling things I already knew.

The advice about understanding why wrong answers are wrong — not just memorizing right ones — is genuinely the best NPE advice in this thread. Rebuilt my prep around that and it made a real difference.
