Anyone found good free LEAB study resources besides the obvious ones?
I've already gone through the standard "law enforcement aptitude battery" results on Google and most of it is just selling prep courses. Looking for actual free resources.
What I've tried:
- Practice tests here (solid, especially for law enforcement aptitude battery)
- A few YouTube channels but the quality is all over the place
- Reddit threads from 2+ years ago (some outdated)
What I haven't tried yet:
- The official LEAB study guide — is it actually worth reading cover to cover?
- Library resources — anyone actually found useful materials there?
- Specific YouTube channels that cover leab test prep well
I don't mind paying for something that's genuinely better than free, but I want to max out free options first. Budget is tight.
What resources did you use that you'd actually recommend?
For what it's worth from someone who's been through it:
The LEAB is one of those exams where the practice tests really do prepare you well. The style of questioning is pretty consistent. If you're comfortable with "leab" material under timed conditions, you'll be fine.
The one thing I'd add: read the question stems very carefully. They sometimes add a qualifier that completely changes the right answer and it's easy to miss when you're going fast.
Also check whether you need to schedule the exam in advance — some testing centers book up 2-3 weeks out.
What helped me most with leab specifically: stop thinking about it as a topic to memorize and start thinking about the types of decisions it's asking you to make. Once I shifted to that frame, my LEAB scores in that section jumped about 18 points within a week.
Quick update: just cleared 79% on my most recent LEAB practice set using leab practice test questions video answers. Sitting for the real thing in 4 weeks. Feeling cautiously optimistic.
