My English level is around B2 according to the CEFR scale. I have decent reading skills but my listening comprehension drops significantly when speakers use academic vocabulary or speak at a fast pace. I work full-time, so I can study about one hour on weekdays and three hours on weekends.
I want to know how realistic it is to reach a TOEFL score of 90+ within three months with this schedule. I started using the free TOEFL practice test section here and it showed me exactly which sub-skills I'm weakest in — particularly note-taking for the integrated listening tasks.
For a toefl test score in the 90-95 range, does the preparation time depend more on your starting level or on the consistency of your study routine? Any advice from people who improved their listening scores significantly would be very helpful.
I went from B2 to a 92 in about 14 weeks with a similar schedule to yours. Listening was my biggest weakness too. What helped most was shadowing — listening to academic lectures and repeating sentences aloud immediately after. I also practiced taking notes in shorthand. Consistency matters more than total hours; daily short sessions beat weekend cramming.
