Got my results yesterday and didn't pass. I'm frustrated but trying to stay focused on what to fix rather than dwelling on it. Writing this partly to process it and partly because I know others will be in the same spot.
My weakest area was study guide — I knew going in that it was shaky but underestimated how much the exam weighted it. The questions weren't unfair, I just didn't have the depth I needed.
I'm rebuilding my study plan around the ccdm quality control & regulatory compliance and going much slower this time — no more rushing through topics I think I know. Also going through ccdm test to fill in the conceptual foundation I was missing. Planning to take 6 more weeks before rescheduling.
Anyone else been through a CCDM retake? What specifically changed in your approach that made the difference?
For the people asking about study timelines: I studied 90 minutes per day for 13 weeks working full time. It's absolutely doable without burning out. The key is consistency — missing days hurts more than extending your timeline.
For the people asking about study timelines: I studied 86 minutes per day for 10 weeks working full time. It's absolutely doable without burning out. The key is consistency — missing days hurts more than extending your timeline.
Failed first attempt, came back to this thread. The consensus on ccdm practice test being the make-or-break area is right. Focusing almost exclusively on applied questions this time around.
So I failed my first CCDM attempt too, and like you my study guide work was the weak spot. Here's what I actually changed. The first time I just read through the material and assumed I was absorbing it. I wasn't. Second time around I forced myself to explain each section out loud like I was teaching it, and the gaps showed up fast. Stuff I thought I knew, I couldn't actually put into words. That was humbling but it's the thing that moved the needle.
The other change was timing. I spread it out instead of cramming the last two weeks. Short sessions, almost every day, way more than one long marathon on the weekend. Don't underestimate how much the study guide questions reward you for knowing the why behind a process and not just the steps. You're clearly already doing the right thing by focusing on what to fix instead of beating yourself up. You've got this next time.
