Okay I'm kind of embarrassed to even post this but I've failed the Florida DMV knowledge test twice now and I'm starting to lose confidence. First time I got a 70% (need 80% to pass), second time I bumped it up to 76% but still not enough. I've been reading the Florida Driver Handbook cover to cover but clearly that's not working on its own.

The questions that keep tripping me up are the right-of-way scenarios and road sign meanings — especially those obscure warning signs I never see in real life. A friend told me to use a FL DMV practice test site to drill those specific areas, but I'm not sure which ones are actually close to the real exam format. Has anyone found a solid study guide that breaks things down by topic rather than just throwing random questions at you?

I've got about two weeks before I can retake it (third attempt costs money in my county). Really want to pass this time. Any exam tips from people who've been through this would be genuinely appreciated.

I failed my first attempt too — you're not alone. What actually helped me was doing timed practice tests instead of just reading through questions casually. When there's a clock running you start reading more carefully. The right-of-way stuff clicked for me once I found a site that explained the reasoning behind each answer, not just what the correct choice was. Give yourself at least 30–40 practice questions a day in the final week.

Two weeks is plenty of time, seriously. Focus on chapters 4 and 5 in the handbook — that's where most of the tricky scenarios come from. You've got this.

Road signs were my weakness too. What I did was print out a sign chart from the FL DMV handbook and tape it to my bathroom mirror for a week. Sounds silly but you end up memorizing them without really trying. Also — pay close attention to speed limit rules in school zones and near emergency vehicles. Those showed up on my actual test more than I expected. I passed with an 88% after bombing it the first time.
