I work full time (45 hours a week) and just registered for the CJE. I'm trying to set a realistic study timeline before committing to a test date.
From what I've read, estimates range from 5 weeks to 13 weeks depending on background. My background is related but I've never taken a formal study guide course, so I'm probably starting at an intermediate level.
I've been using the cje cloud computing & virtualization to gauge where I stand, and my initial diagnostic scores are around 68%. Also reading through certified jenkins engineer to fill in the theory gaps.
For those who've been through it: did you study daily or more intensively in bursts? Did your practice scores accurately predict your real exam performance?
For the people asking about study timelines: I studied 61 minutes per day for 9 weeks working full time. It's absolutely doable without burning out. The key is consistency — missing days hurts more than extending your timeline.
Good thread. One thing I'd add: don't try to cram the night before. I did 2 hours the night before my CJE and I think it hurt more than helped. Your brain needs consolidation time. Light review or full rest is better.
Really helpful breakdown, thanks for sharing. I'm at week 2 of my CJE prep and the study guide section is exactly where I'm struggling too. Going to try the approach you described and see if it moves my scores.

Same experience here. The cje cloud computing & virtualization was what finally made it click for me — specifically the way it explains the reasoning rather than just giving answers. Took me 2 weeks of consistent practice but scores went from 68% to 83% by exam day.
