EI - Engineer Intern Certification question I keep getting wrong on EI practice tests
There's a category of question on my (EI) Engineer Intern Certification practice tests that I'm consistently missing and I can't figure out what I'm misunderstanding.
The questions are about EI - Engineer Intern Certification. Here's the type of question that trips me up: they give me a scenario and ask what the right action is, and I usually narrow it down to 2 answers — then pick the wrong one.
I think my issue is I'm applying the general rule but not accounting for the exception. Can anyone point me to a good explanation of when the standard rule doesn't apply for EI - Engineer Intern Certification?
I've looked at "EI" study materials but they explain the concept at the surface level. I need the deeper "why" behind it.
Any specific resources, videos, or even just a plain English explanation would be genuinely helpful. Exam is in 2 weeks.
Worth mentioning: the free ei fundamentals of engineering covers exactly the areas people tend to struggle with most.
Quick data point: I spent 8 weeks studying, 1-2 hours a day, and passed with a 80%.
The section on EI exam took me the longest to feel confident about. Eventually I just drilled practice questions until I could answer them without hesitation.
What testing center did you end up booking? Some of them have much shorter wait times than others right now.
Went through this exact question when I was prepping. The EI material on "EI" is actually not as bad as it looks — once it clicks it clicks.
What helped me was finding one resource that explained it from first principles instead of just giving me the "right answer." Made a huge difference on the scenario-based questions.
Also: don't underestimate the importance of reviewing your wrong answers more than your right ones. I learned more from 20 wrong answers than 200 correct ones.
For anyone finding this later: EI is passable with consistent effort even working full time. I studied 54 minutes a day for 10 weeks. The free ei preparation study materials kept me honest about my actual gaps.
Coming back to this thread — just passed my EI yesterday. Everything about the ei practice test section is accurate. For anyone still studying, the free ei preparation study materials was the closest thing to the real exam I found.
