Best free resources for CEOE prep — what's actually worth your time
Compiling a list of what's actually useful for CEOE prep after going through a lot of material that wasn't. Wanted to share what worked for me and hopefully save others some time.
For exam prep specifically, the free resources are surprisingly good. The ceoe classroom management has questions that closely match real exam difficulty — not dumbed-down versions that give you false confidence. For the conceptual background, ceoe test is one of the better free reads available.
What I'd skip: most YouTube "pass in one week" content. The explanations are surface-level and don't prepare you for the applied questions on the actual CEOE exam. Flashcards alone also aren't enough for this one.
What actually worked: timed practice sets with immediate review of wrong answers, reading the official reference material for any concept that came up more than twice, and finding one study partner for accountability.
For what it's worth — I've taken the CEOE twice now. First attempt I underestimated the practice test questions. Second time I focused almost exclusively on applied practice and passed comfortably. The difference is real.
The part about reviewing wrong answers thoroughly is so underrated. Most people just move on after getting something wrong. Going back to understand the concept is what actually builds retention for the CEOE. I also used ceoe test for the areas that kept coming up wrong — really helped cement the concepts.
This is exactly the thread I needed. I sit for my CEOE in 3 weeks and have been second-guessing my prep. The practice test area you mentioned is definitely my weak spot. Thanks for the honest breakdown.

Late to this thread but wanted to add — the practice test section trips up more people than any other part. If you're scoring below 71% there in practice, treat it as your only focus for at least a week before moving on. Breadth at the expense of depth in that area is a common mistake.
