Okay so I want to share my experience because when I was prepping I couldn't find much real talk about this exam online. I work in IT disaster recovery for a mid-size financial firm and my manager basically required the DRP certification for a promotion I've been waiting on for two years. First attempt I went in way too confident — scored a 67 and needed a 75 to pass. Embarrassing.
For my second attempt I completely changed my approach. I spent about six weeks using a DRP practice test site daily, which honestly was the biggest game-changer. The questions mirror the real exam format way better than just reading the official handbook. I also found a solid study guide that organized the business continuity planning and RTO/RPO concepts in a way that finally clicked for me.
A few exam tips that made a real difference: don't skip the tabletop exercise scenario questions, they make up more of the test than you'd expect. Also know your recovery strategies cold — hot site vs. warm site vs. cold site distinctions show up constantly. Happy to answer questions if anyone's in the same boat I was.
