Preparing for my Driver Knowledge Test in NSW. I'm an international student, originally from India, and while I've driven for 5 years back home the road rules here are different enough that I want to be thorough. Already been through the Road Users Handbook twice.
I keep hearing different things — some people say 3-4 practice tests is enough, others say do 10+. How many practice tests did you do before your DKT and how did you go on the actual test?

I did about 8 full practice tests and got 44/45 on the real thing. The questions repeat a lot across practice tests so by test 5-6 you start recognizing most of them. At that point do a few more for timing confidence then you're ready.

Do the official Transport for NSW practice tests specifically — some third-party ones have outdated or incorrect questions. The official ones are the closest to the real exam format.

The specific questions about giving way rules and right-of-way at intersections tripped me up until I drew diagrams for each scenario. That visual approach helped me stop second-guessing on those questions.
