Cloud Security Posture Management cert — which vendor track is most recognized?

Looking to formalize my cloud security knowledge with a CSPM-focused certification. I work primarily in AWS with some Azure, and most of my daily work is around misconfig detection, compliance frameworks, and policy enforcement.

The options seem to be vendor-specific (AWS Security Specialty, Microsoft SC-200/400) or vendor-neutral paths through CCSP or something like the newer ISC2 CSPM content. My employer would reimburse one cert this year.

What's actually valued by hiring managers right now — vendor-specific depth or vendor-neutral breadth? The job market for cloud security roles seems to want both but I can only pick one.

Do AWS Security Specialty first for immediate relevance, then CCSP if you want the broader cloud security architecture knowledge. CCSP is more useful when you move into advisory or architect roles.

The SC-200 has become surprisingly well-recognized even outside Microsoft shops because of how many companies use Defender and Sentinel now. Worth considering if your work ever touches Azure at all.

AWS Security Specialty if you're AWS-heavy. Hiring managers in cloud security roles almost always want to see the cloud-native cert relevant to their stack. Vendor-neutral is good for breadth but it doesn't prove you can actually work in their environment.
