CSEP study timeline — is 3 months realistic for someone with 5 years experience?

Registered for the CSEP (Certified Systems Engineering Professional) exam in about 12 weeks. I have 5 years of systems engineering experience in aerospace but I've never formally studied the INCOSE framework. My day-to-day work is pretty aligned but the certification language and specific terminology feel like a different world.

Currently working through the SEBoK and the INCOSE SE Handbook. Planning to do about 10 hours/week. Is that enough time? The exam guide says 190 questions in 3.5 hours — the pacing alone sounds rough.

Any tips on which domains to prioritize? I'm weakest on life cycle models and the technical processes section feels very textbook-heavy.

3 months with 5 years experience is realistic, especially since your background aligns. The terminology gap closes faster than you think once you start mapping your real work to INCOSE language. I'd focus heavily on the technical and enterprise processes — those have the most questions.

SEBoK is your friend. I'd read it more than the handbook — it explains the why behind the frameworks which helps with tricky questions where two answers seem right.

The pacing is a real concern. 190 questions in 3.5 hours is under 70 seconds per question. I did timed practice sessions weekly so the pressure felt normal by exam day. Don't skip that step.
