Finally passed my CRAT after two attempts — here's what actually helped
Hey everyone, long-time lurker here. I just got my results back yesterday and I finally passed the CRAT exam on my second try. First attempt I scored a 68 and needed a 75, so I was pretty devastated. Took me another three months to feel ready to go again.
What made the difference this time was being way more deliberate with my prep. I spent about 6 weeks doing 1-2 hours a night, mostly focused on the regulatory compliance sections because that's where I lost the most points. I found a solid CRAT practice test online that actually matched the question style on the real exam — not just generic multiple choice but scenario-based stuff that forces you to apply the rules, not just memorize them.
I also finally broke down and got a proper CRAT study guide instead of relying on my work experience and some scattered notes. Huge mistake waiting so long on that. Anyone else in here preparing for their first attempt? Happy to share more specific exam tips if it helps.
