Finally sitting for CPCM next month — anyone have last-minute advice?

So I've been studying for the CPCM for about four months now and my exam date is June 28th. I work in federal contracting for a mid-size defense contractor and my manager basically said this certification is the next step if I want to move into a senior contracts manager role. No pressure, right?

I've gone through the NCMA Body of Knowledge twice, done a CPCM practice test or two on various sites, and feel solid on contract administration and cost/price analysis — but source selection and subcontracting compliance still trip me up. My goal is somewhere around 75% since the passing threshold is 70%, so I want a small buffer. I've got about 90 minutes a day to study between now and then.

Has anyone used a structured CPCM study guide that actually helped tie the domains together? I feel like I know the individual pieces but struggle to connect them under timed conditions. Any exam tips from people who passed recently would be huge right now.

I passed in March after two attempts. Honestly the biggest thing that helped me was doing timed practice blocks — not full mocks, just 30 questions in 40 minutes. It forces you to stop second-guessing. Source selection tripped me up too; I'd focus on FAR Part 15 and understand the distinction between competitive range and best value. That connection showed up more than I expected.

Just wanted to say good luck! The 90-minute daily study block is smart — consistency beats marathon sessions every time. You've got this.

Four months is solid prep time, you're probably more ready than you think. I was in a similar spot — strong on administration, weak on subcontracting flow-downs. What finally clicked for me was mapping each domain back to a real contract I'd worked on. Suddenly FAR clauses stopped feeling abstract. Also: get good sleep the week before. I'm serious, I crammed the night before my first attempt and bombed it.
