Anyone found good free ESTHETICIAN study resources besides the obvious ones?

I've already gone through the standard "esthetician school" results on Google and most of it is just selling prep courses. Looking for actual free resources.

What I've tried:
- Practice tests here (solid, especially for esthetician school)
- A few YouTube channels but the quality is all over the place
- Reddit threads from 2+ years ago (some outdated)

What I haven't tried yet:
- The official ESTHETICIAN study guide — is it actually worth reading cover to cover?
- Library resources — anyone actually found useful materials there?
- Specific YouTube channels that cover esthetician near me well

I don't mind paying for something that's genuinely better than free, but I want to max out free options first. Budget is tight.

What resources did you use that you'd actually recommend?

The honest answer is: it depends a lot on your background.

If you're already working in this field, the ESTHETICIAN exam is testing knowledge you probably use daily. The "esthetician" sections will feel familiar.

If you're coming in from outside, give yourself an extra 2 weeks and really focus on the practical application questions.

The practice tests here are worth doing repeatedly — I did the same test bank multiple times and found new questions I'd missed each time.

Same boat a few months ago. Here's what I'd tell myself:

The ESTHETICIAN exam is more application-focused than the study guides suggest. They test whether you understand esthetician, not just whether you can define it.

My tip: when you see a scenario question, mentally walk through it step by step before looking at the answers. The wrong answers are designed to catch people who jump to conclusions.

Good luck — the fact that you're doing this level of prep means you're going to be fine.
