Okay so I'm a little embarrassed to even post this but maybe it'll help someone else. I moved to Colorado from out of state last year and assumed the written test would be easy since I've been driving for 12 years. Failed it the first time with a 68% (you need 80% to pass). Went home, read the Colorado Driver Handbook cover to cover, came back a week later and failed again with a 74%. I was honestly mortified standing at the DMV counter.
What finally turned things around was actually taking a CO DMV practice test online — I found one that mirrors the real exam format and I did it probably 15 times over two weeks until I was consistently hitting 90%+. The study guide questions on road signs and right-of-way rules tripped me up way more than I expected. Colorado has some specific rules around school buses and mountain driving that I'd never encountered before.
Third attempt I passed with an 88%. If you're prepping, seriously don't skip the practice tests — reading alone isn't enough. Has anyone else here taken it recently? Curious if the questions have changed at all.
