So I just got my CMC certification results back yesterday and I honestly cried a little. Failed my first attempt back in February by about 8 points, which was brutal after all that prep. The hardest part was figuring out what I'd done wrong — the feedback report is pretty vague.
What made the difference the second time around was being way more systematic. I spent about 6 weeks re-studying, roughly 1-1.5 hours per night. I leaned heavily on a solid CMC study guide that actually broke down the competency domains by weight, because I'd been over-studying leadership theory and totally neglecting the financial management section. The ratio matters a lot more than people realize.
I also did a ton of CMC practice test questions in the final two weeks — like 20-30 questions per sitting, timed. Treated each wrong answer as a mini-lesson rather than just moving on. If anyone is prepping right now, I'm happy to share more specific exam tips. What section is giving you the most trouble?
