So I just got my results back yesterday and I finally passed the Certified Leasing Professional exam on my third try. Honestly I was starting to think it just wasn't going to happen for me. My first two attempts I scored a 68 and a 71 — so close but not close enough. This time I hit an 82 and I'm still kind of in shock.
The biggest thing that changed my approach was actually getting serious about a structured CLP study guide instead of just skimming the NALP materials. I spent about 8 weeks this time, roughly 45 minutes a day, and I did timed CLP practice test sets every weekend starting at week 3. That repetition under pressure made a huge difference because the real exam moves fast and I used to panic. Topics like fair housing applications and lease renewal negotiation tripped me up badly on attempt two.
Happy to answer questions if anyone is prepping right now. It's absolutely passable, I just wish someone had given me more specific exam tips before I went in the first two times completely overconfident.
