Finally passed CGL after two failed attempts — here's what actually worked

Okay so I've been lurking here for months and I feel like I owe it to this community to share my experience. I failed the CGL exam twice — first time I got a 68 when I needed a 72, second time a 70. I was honestly ready to give up. What changed for me was actually slowing down and building a real study plan instead of just watching YouTube videos and hoping something would stick.

The biggest shift was using a structured CGL study guide that broke down the syllabus section by section. General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, English — I gave each one dedicated days instead of jumping around. I also started doing timed CGL practice test sessions three times a week, which forced me to actually work under pressure. My accuracy on quant went from embarrassing to like 78% over about six weeks.

For anyone just starting out, what's your biggest struggle right now? Quant is where most people bleed marks but English can sneak up on you too. Happy to share my full 8-week schedule if anyone wants it.

Two failed attempts and you still came back — that takes real grit. I passed on my second try last year and the thing that helped me most was error logging. Every wrong answer I wrote down why I got it wrong, not just the correct answer. Sounds tedious but after two weeks I could see actual patterns in my mistakes. English synonyms and reading comprehension were my gap.

This is so encouraging, genuinely. I'm about 4 weeks out from my attempt and quant is killing me — specifically time and work problems. Can I ask how many practice tests you did per week? I've been doing one full mock on Sundays but I'm wondering if that's not enough. Also did you use any specific exam tips for managing the timer, or did it just get easier with repetition?

The 8-week schedule would be amazing if you're willing to share it. I'm starting from basically zero CGL prep and have no idea how to structure my time. Congrats on passing!
