What CCE score do you need to pass? Breaking down the numbers

I've been seeing a lot of confusion about passing scores for the CCE exam, so I wanted to share what I've researched and experienced.

The official minimum is typically 74%, but most successful candidates average around 80% on practice tests before sitting for the real thing. The practice test section tends to drag scores down because it's the most conceptually dense part of the exam.

I found that working through the free cce judicial & community relations questions and answers consistently for two to three weeks gets most people into the passing zone. The key isn't just doing more questions — it's reviewing every mistake and understanding the underlying principle.

Anyone who scored above 81%: what was your actual study timeline? Curious whether people who take more time consistently score higher or if there's a plateau effect.

Bookmarking this. I'm still in the early stages of CCE prep and threads like this are way more useful than generic study guides. The specifics about study guide are particularly helpful — that's the section I've been avoiding.

Congrats on passing! Can I ask — how many questions did the actual exam have compared to what the practice tests simulate? I've seen different numbers online and want to calibrate my timing during practice.

Really helpful breakdown, thanks for sharing. I'm at week 3 of my CCE prep and the study guide section is exactly where I'm struggling too. Going to try the approach you described and see if it moves my scores.

Honestly I almost quit around week 3. My practice scores were sitting in the low 60s and I couldn't figure out if I was even close to ready or just wasting my time. The 74% minimum sounds manageable until you're consistently scoring 10+ points below it and starting to wonder if you're cut out for this.

What changed for me was accepting that the early scores don't mean much. I kept going, drilled the weak sections hard, and eventually broke into the high 70s. Passed on my first real attempt with an 81. So if you're in that rough patch right now, it's not over. The jump from struggling to passing can happen faster than you think, you just can't bail before it does.

Failed my first attempt with a 71% and honestly I wasn't even that surprised. I'd been cramming the night before and skimming through practice questions without really paying attention to why I was getting things wrong. That was my biggest mistake.

Second time around I slowed down and actually reviewed every missed question. I didn't move on until I understood the concept, not just the answer. Got an 82% on my last three practice tests before I sat for it again and ended up passing with a 78%. Not a perfect score but it got me through. If you're close to that 74% cutoff on practice tests, you're not ready yet.
