Passed AZ-900 on first try — here's what actually helped me

So I finally passed my az-900 last Tuesday and honestly I'm still a little shocked it went as smoothly as it did. I'd been putting it off for months because I kept hearing mixed things about how technical it gets. For context, I work in sales at an IT company and have basically zero hands-on cloud experience — I was coming at this completely cold.

I spent about 3 weeks studying, maybe 45 minutes to an hour a day. The biggest shift for me was when I stopped just watching YouTube videos and started doing actual practice questions. I found a bunch of free resources including FREE AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Certification Questions and Answers which really helped me figure out where my weak spots were. The CapEx vs OpEx questions and the shared responsibility model kept tripping me up until I drilled them repeatedly.

My final score was 812 — passing is 700, so I had some room to spare. If you're on the fence about whether the az-900 certification is worth it for a non-technical role, I'd say absolutely yes. Happy to answer any questions about my study approach!

Quick question — how many practice tests did you do total before taking the real thing? I'm scheduled for next week and I'm scoring around 75-80% on the az 900 practice test sets I've been using, but I'm still nervous. Did you find the actual exam harder or easier than the practice questions? I keep second-guessing myself on the pricing and SLA questions.

Congrats! I passed mine about two months ago with a similar background — no real Azure hands-on experience. The shared responsibility model and the different cloud service types (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) showed up way more than I expected. Honestly the az-900 exam isn't trying to trick you, it's more about understanding concepts than memorizing commands. Give yourself 3-4 weeks and you'll be fine.

812 is a solid score, nice work. For anyone else prepping, don't sleep on the Azure pricing calculator and TCO calculator — those always show up. Knowing the difference between them took me maybe 20 minutes to study and was absolutely on my exam.
