ACP online vs in-person exam — any difference in difficulty?

I have the option of taking my ACP - Adobe Certified Professional exam online at home or going to a testing center. Trying to figure out which is better for me.

Arguments for online:
- No commute stress
- Familiar environment
- More flexible scheduling

Arguments for testing center:
- No home distractions
- More controlled environment
- Better equipment potentially

My main concern with the online version is proctoring — I've heard some certification exams have very strict rules about what's allowed in the room. One wrong move and you're flagged.

Has anyone taken ACP both ways? Or specifically the online version? How was the experience? And does the difficulty or question format actually differ based on how you take it?

Also — any issues with the "ACP" type content being harder in one format vs the other?

Worth mentioning: the free acp tracks covers exactly the areas people tend to struggle with most.

I actually failed the first time by a few points. Total gut punch. But passed on the second attempt with a comfortable margin.

What changed: I stopped trying to memorize answers and started actually understanding the material. Specifically on ACP exam — I went back to basics and worked forward from first principles.

Also switched from reading to doing. Less time with the textbook, more time on practice questions with detailed answer explanations.

You've got this. The second attempt is always better because you know exactly what the exam is like.

Great discussion here. One thing I'd add that hasn't come up: sleep the night before is genuinely more important than one more study session. I went in fully rested for my ACP and felt sharper on the study guide questions than I expected. Don't underestimate recovery time.

Failed my first attempt, came back to this thread for motivation. The advice about really understanding why wrong answers are wrong — not just memorizing the right ones — is the single best piece of advice I've seen for the ACP. Rebuilding my prep around that principle now. Using acp test for the concept review.

Quick update for this thread: just cleared 83% on my most recent ACP practice set. The free acp tracks questions and answers has been my main resource and the difficulty feels right — not easy enough to give false confidence, not so hard it's discouraging. Sitting for the real thing in 2 weeks.

Coming back to this thread because I just passed my ACP yesterday. Everything people said about the practice test section is spot on — that was the hardest part for me too. For anyone still studying, don't skip the applied questions in the free acp tracks questions and answers. They're the closest to what you'll actually see.
