F-03 — The FDNY F-03 Certificate of Fitness (Fire Guard for Impairment) is issued by the New York City Fire Department Bureau of Fire Prevention. The actual exam consists of approximately 50 multiple-choice questions administered at FDNY headquarters, with a 70% passing score required. Certificate holders are authorized to perform fire watch duties when fire protection systems (sprinklers, standpipes, fire alarms) are out of service or impaired in any occupancy.
