EAS Emergency Alert System VIP Certification Exam

EAS — The Emergency Alert System (EAS) is governed by FCC Part 11 rules (47 CFR Part 11) and FEMA's IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert and Warning System) program. EAS participation is mandatory for all broadcast stations, cable systems, satellite providers, and wireline video systems in the U.S. Operational competency is evaluated through FEMA's IPAWS training courses (IS-247.a, IS-702.a) and the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) certification programs that include EAS knowledge domains. This exam mirrors the regulatory knowledge, technical standards, and operational procedures required of all certified EAS participants.
