Degrees of Reading Power (DRP) — VIP Practice Exam
DRP — The Degrees of Reading Power (DRP) assessment, published by Questar Assessment Inc. (formerly TASA), is a standardized reading comprehension measure used in grades K–12 that employs a modified cloze procedure: students read prose passages with one key word deleted and select the best replacement from multiple-choice options, with passages arranged in order of increasing readability difficulty on the DRP scale (approximately 30–85+ DRP units). There is no universal pass/fail threshold — schools use DRP scores to place students and measure growth — so the 70% benchmark here reflects a composite proficiency standard for this practice set.
