DLPT — The Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) is a series of foreign language proficiency assessments administered by the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense; it tests reading and listening comprehension using the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency scale and is required for military linguists and intelligence personnel to qualify for duty assignments and Foreign Language Proficiency Pay.
